How should i shave my vagina area?

Ive been shaving for about 2 weeks now, but i usualy shave everywhere. But my freind told me shaves only a part of hers =S I dont really understand.. How shouldi shave and have you got any good tips for it? (E.g how should i take the hair off? where should i take it off? should i leave some? should i take it off at all? what helps with rashes, red bumps/spots? what makes it feel smoother/softer/nicer in general? and so on) Please reply as soon as =] Thankyou x
